Re: New chat thread 17

Hanway2
It seems that the book is written by Peter Checksfield who can be found on the 'missing episodes' website a lot. He has recently uploaded some 'glam-rock' footage on there- and included in that is 'Seasons Of The Sun' danced to by Pan's.
Our friend GJB is complaining about the book on YouTube, saying it is badly written, has many holes and the details have been lifted from the internet and other books. And has uploaded his own SOTS with Pan's.
He says more or less that he has defeated S-M-S and has a new rival in Peter Checksfield.
To me it seems all very childish. 'I have more rare clips than you!!'. Unless something has been stolen from you, let them post whatever they have- and we all benefit by being able to view them. Or have I missed something here?

Indeed, a little strange that his fellow guitarist looks like Midge will in six years time.

Yep its classic GJB lingo i'm affraid. From what i can see on the ME forum, that Peter Checkfield geezer doesn't strike me has someone on a mission to impress but simply to let others have a chance to see stuff.

That video was originally broadcast on an Austrian music TV show called "Popscope" in April 1976. The clip has been circulating among collectors for many years.

Thanks Vin, seems like quite a gap from the original recording in Oct 74, they had moved on a different style by then.

Seasons in the Sun appeared on the blog quite sometime back, so it’s nothing new online.
Edit: checking the blog it’s been there since last March.

Yes, I know it has been on the blog for some time, I have seen it myself there several times. But I thought it would be of interest that it was posted on YouTube by Peter Checksfield, the writer of the book mentioned above, and the posted up again as a countermeasure by GJB.
I have not seen it on YouTube before.

This is the date for the new blog. I've already featured it on the PPCT in June 2015, meaning it was already available at that time.

What really amazed me was that neither GJB nor PC bothered to repair the faulty audio of the original tape which actually takes just a couple of minutes.

I thought it had been longer. I don’t record the dates an individual routine appears on line just that it has appeared.
2018 is more noteworthy for those that have been found and are either being extracted off old tapes or are now residing in the archives away from prying eyes.

I was hoping for a special header today and I am not disappointed. Beautiful by any stretch of the imagination!

Thanks Hanway. I could have sworn the full colour routine to this was on the internet, it appears not. I will include it at the OFTDs event in July if its not uploaded to the net beforehand.

May i add a word of praise for the header too, Ryan. Not normally one to be taken in with the crass commercialism of Valentine's Day, but I'll make an exception here, excellent work.

And no, pretty certain the full colour Love's Theme has never been on YT, just a snippet. Looking forward to seeing it in it's entirety again.

Pay attention at the back! Vintage Videos and Legsfan put it on the blog quite sometime ago.

If it's green, it's been available to watch on your screen.
