Good work Vin. Four records have broken the Golden Rule and it's only 1970!

Yup good work Vin.  Looks like it could be five records GD and to think Temma Harbour should have been a frisbee

The tracks that ought to have been 'frisbeed', most probably at a point of no return, that's to say that there wasn't any time left for that week, to make a substitute dance routine for an alternative track, & there may have been a policy whereby Pan's People would appear on TOTPs every week, without failure, at that time.

Re: Pan's People Rock The Charts!

Before The Top 75 was introduced in 1978, there was a list of songs that were 'bubbling under' the Top 50. The list was called 'Breakers Chart' and consisted of 1 to 30 records that had not yet made the official Top 50 (although there were a few exceptions when records that had dropped out of the Top 50 were also included).
No. 3 in the 'Breakers Chart' would be about No. 55 by today's standards, taking into account that records on their way down were generally not eligible for the Breakers.

If you'd like to know more about the Breakers and see listings of songs that almost made the Top 50, I recommend to visit this thread:

Well i live and learn. I never realized that `You Sexy Sugar Plum` was actually `You Sexy Sugar Plum (But I Like It)`. That must be the 5th or 6th record that our girls have danced to that ive learned had an elongated name.

Titles must be a bit of a frustration for the purists given that sometimes there's even disagreement between the sleeve and the vinyl

LOL yes and I had to shorten a couple of titles because they were too long for a single line, like "Theme From 'Mahogany' (Do You Know Where You're Going To?)"

Really weird how a record as late as 1974 didn't get Frisbeed. As we all know that routine survives and i think its a pretty decent dance. Great detective work Vin on that and the rest of your list. Just give me the nod when you want me to move it to the Pans People list section.

Surprised that Detroit Emeralds got such a low placing

I guess you are referring to 'I Think Of You'. Yes that one should have gone much higher.

Even Ruby Flipper performed to a record that went down the charts.

Golly Gosh, i never knew that. Ive listed Ruby Flipper chart positions and the eventual position the record peaked at. I didn't detect any that went down the charts.

I may be talked into doing a similar list for Ruby Flipper routines... There aren't too many anyway.

'Eventually' may be the word, Mikey. I don't expect it any time soon though.

Vin, ive abandoned my year long project of doing screen cap clickable links, falling at the first fence one may say. So im going to move on to doing a Legs & Co chart position listing to replace the one ive got up already. Mine will be different to yours in a few ways, but i do take inspiration from your Pans chart. Please feel free to do a Ruby version, it will replace the one ive already got up.
