I see what you mean over on the chat thread Ryan. The top two are almost, er, parallel.

A couple of updates you've missed. 4 is now the lowest rating for Reunited, and like Pauline, Sue no longer has a DOTD clean sweep routine this year.

If the routines on the list above had been the only ones that Legs & Co ever performed, it would be reason enough to hold them in high esteem. There's hardly a dud amongst them, well for me anyway.

I agree, there's a lot of entertainment in that Chart.  I do think the unique Tragedy is a little hard done by myself but I know not everyone agreed.  Overall though there are some astoundingly high marks and deservedly so
Some Dancers who gave a good time, broke all the rules, played all the fools, yeah yeah yeah they blew our minds

8 of the top 10 is what we would call disco......you could include Blondie for Heart of Glass....seems the dreaded disco is the fan favourite for Legs

Just a couple of numbers to update, Ryan. The lowest ratings for Say When and Cavatina are now 6 and 5 respectively.

Paperboyplod
That'll pull down the average, potentially foiling a record points average for the '79 ratings.

It's certainly not my least favourite but with the unfavourable camera-work and Randy's lack of charisma I can see why it's where it is.

Its a pretty good song that hit the right notes with me way back when. But i was more of a romantic soul back then, rather than the grumpy, nay cynical old man i am now. Legs & Co i think would rather have been elsewhere, but got drafted into helping Randy out, rather like they did in 1978 when they got the job of digging Gene out of a hole.

I'm the other way round. I would have had no interest in what I would have dismissed as a soppy song once upon a time, but now I really like it. After The Love Has Gone is another example.

After The Love is a classic full stop

reminds me, I sent a request into Colm's radio show to play something for OFTD's, he did he played After The Love has Gone and dedicated it to us...

I used to love soppy ballads back then (78/79/80). I think it was because i was always in love with birds left right and centre. A ballad style song that spring to mind is `Every Day Day Hurts`, which i distinctly remember listening to whilst tuning into crackling radio Luxembourg whilst being given the elbow. Soon moved on though.
