I will watch `The Story Of 1982`, but i have zero interest in watching the Big Hits programme that follows it. I will wait for those particular performances to be screened during the year on TOTPs. Looking at the list in Legsfan's first post, it just leaves me yearning for the never to return 1970s.
I think '82 is going to be great.I'm watching the Big Hits and there hasn't been one i don't like.Canada's finest,Martha Ladly,is on with The Associates now.Even though i don't know who most of the new dancers i still enjoy watching them. There are many great routines to come.I'm even getting used to the cheerleaders. We've all complained over the past few years of bored looking audience members. Now we have beautiful looking guys and gals creating a good atmosphere.Sometimes it may be a bit OTT but i still like it.Someone on the Story Of said that TOTP has moved away from acts simply standing there miming to much more of an entertainment show.I think that's right. For a dancer centred site like this the sky may have fallen in but there is still a lot to enjoy for music fans.I'm watching Wham now surrounded by the audience and cheerleaders/dancers and it is great.
I love Legs & Co like the rest of us but i'm finding that i appreciate the new dancers/cheerleaders for the spectacle and entertainment.
was expecting at least 'Club Country' by Associates
I prefer that one to Party Fears Two, as well. Unfortunately as a poster over on the Roobarbs Forum has pointed out, the "Club Country" performance is a victim of the dreaded Yew Tree. Likewise "I'm a Wonderful Thing" by Kid Creole and the Coconuts. Which is annoying because it was a big hit and they could easily have put it on the compilation show last night instead of "Annie" which we get to see anyway. I wish the people compiling these shows would take a little time to consider the material on the banned shows.
Fun Boy Three & Banarama, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, The Associates, Duran Duran, Captain Sensible, Kid Creole and Musical Youth performances won't be shown due to them being on Yewtree'd editions, but many will be shown through different performances or videos.
